Jim Taliana - Committee Member
Jim Taliana is a prize-winning artist who has lived and worked in Boothbay harbor since 2001. He came from Michigan where he had 10 one-person art shows, had participated in many invitational shows, and was a judge for numerous exhibitions. While in Michigan, Jim started the Michigan Photography Show over 30 years ago and it is still going strong.
He was an art director and a creative director for world-wide ad agency D’arcy Masius Benton & Bowles for 28 years on accounts such as Cadillac, Dow Chemical, FTD-flowers, Kirsch window treatments, Mr.Goodwrench, The Detroit Free Press, Knight-Ridder and Whirlpool.
Jim’s art work is represented by Ambleside Galleries in Greensboro, NC, and The Cary Gallery in Rochester, MI; The Lititz Artist’s Gallery, Lititz, PA; The Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset, and The Boothbay Region Art Foundation...where he is currently vice-president and past president.
Jim conducts plein-air painting workshops each summer as well as teaches drawing and painting each winter at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation.
Jim founded the Maine Photography Show in 2005 and it has grown to be one of the largest state-wide, juried exhibitions in the state.
